Program Descriptions

Class A

We have two Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) programs:

  • Four-week (160 hours) Tractor-Trailer Driver Program
  • Six-week (240 hours) Federal Motor Carrier Program

Both programs consist of a combination of one week of classroom, hands on pre-trip inspection, in-cab inspection, air brake check, and skills. City/highway driving and heavy traffic area driving will be included along with a strong emphasis on defensive driving.

Class A drivers in possession of Class A Commercial Driver License are also licensed to drive any legal combination of vehicles, including vehicles under Class B and Class C.

Class B

Our Class B Truck Driving Program is a 40-hour program.

This training consists of hands on pre-trip inspection, in-cab inspection, air brake check, and skills. City/highway driving and heavy traffic area driving will be included along with a strong emphasis on defensive driving. Area Truck Driving School students will have the necessary qualifications to enter the trucking industry as an entry-level Class B driver.

Bus Driver Training

Our Bus Driver Training Program is a 40-hour program for those who wish to become Commercial Bus drivers.

This course emphasizes safety, pre-trip inspection, in-cab inspection, skills and driving. Upon graduating you will be qualified to work for local and national companies that actively recruit Area Truck Driving School's students!
